Ornate Holy Cards

Lithography and chromo-lithography revolutionized the production of holy cards which flourished in the 19th century and gained popularity in France. French antique holy cards are tiny works of art. Our holy cards consist of antique images on archival canvas which are then hand embellished with acrylic paint, then crochet borders and/or hand-tatted lace are added to the edges. Sturdier than paper cards, they can be carried in pockets, purses, and rosary pouches without tearing; children also love the texture. They also serve as lovely bookmarks for spiritual reading.
